Description
Selective color image of Dupont of the Dupont Underground tunnel graffiti. Underground in Washington DC is a 75K square feet space below the iconic Dupont Circle. It started as a trolley station in 1949. After closing of the streetcar system in 1962 , the underground was closed. There was a failed attempt to use it as a food court in 1990's. It remained shut off and vacant until recently when it was taken over by a cultural organization aimed of using it as a venue for multi-disciplinary creative expression.
