Description
The renown Art Institute of Chicago, founded in 1866, is the second largest art museum in the United States. The original building was destroyed in 1871 by the Great Chicago Fire. The current Beaux Art style building is the third iteration and was designed for the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition. The photo was taken on a cold winter Chicago day from inside a warm Chicago Symphony orchestra lobby.
